The conditions that are resolved with ART in as little as 3-6 treatments often have one major thing in common, i.e., overused muscles not getting enough oxygen (hypoxia) found with activities of repetitive strain, traumatic injury or static micro-overuse.
These are the common ways in which over-used muscles (and other soft tissues) change. Any of the above factors can cause your body to produce tough, dense scar tissue in the affected area. This scar tissue binds up and ties down tissues that need to move freely.
Muscles become shorter and weaker, tension on tendons causes tendinitis, and nerves can become trapped as scar tissue builds up. This might result in a reduced range of motion, strength loss and pain. You might also experience tingling, numbness, and weakness if your nerve is tapped.
